The classification that man uses to measure and categorize the stages of his world always uses the measurement of time and numbers. It has always been of value to the indepth scholar, mathematician, scientist and common man.
In his earnest desire to establish order, define and categorize the works of nature and the provisions of the planet and nature, he devised a form of measurement. Our numerical system is based on the Arabic numbers zero through nine. A symbolization of completion is signified by the number seven. As the early explorers of time and space looked to the heavens, in the use of the sundial, they came to the conclusion that there were twelve hours of daytime and twelve hours of night. Two twelve hours constituted a complete day before the sun shown on the horizon. The number twelve on the face of the clock represented one hour.
As man charted the revolution of the earth around the sun, the number of twelve complete months came into prominence and recorded the earth's journey and described them as seasons of the year. History denotes the passage of time and the events that transpired in a specific time. In man's earnest desire to commend high achievement, or a particular thought process, he set aside a certain day to those who shaped and created the destiny of mankind.
The 25th day of the 12th month of the year is set aside as a special day to honor the birth of Christ. While it is a universal holiday, many people, for personal or religious reasons, do not partake of the celebration. However, there are many things that they can rejoice about as they express their emotions for the quality of life they are experiencing.
In a very true sense, we can rejoice that we made it through the past eleven months without a world war or too much planetary strife. We can take account of where we were at the beginning of the year and where we are heading as a unified world. We can dream about the future, and make a conscious decision to love and cherish one another. We can dedicate our thoughts to our global brothers and sisters. We can also make a commitment to preserve the planet, who for the past eleven months has performed, doing what it can d best: to continue to offer the inhabitants an earthly home.
For everyone the world over, whether you celebrate the holiday of Christmas or not, December is the month to evaluate the blessings that have been bestowed upon you. It doesn't matter, in universal truth, what the particular season is, or where on planet Earth you reside, each one of us can reminisce on the activities of the past eleven months. If the year has brought numerous problems for you, remember any experience is for a purpose and makes you stronger to conquer the vicissitudes of life. Above all, rejoice that you made and are blessed to continue your physical and spiritual quest.
Michael Jackson made history this year by being acknowledged as the first living American Master. While he has remarked publicly that he hasn't celebrated holidays, he is a prototype of how each of us can extend our essence to everyone by sharing our love and talents with the world.
The staff of CAM Publishing and Planet MJAM, along with myself, send our best wishes and love to each and everyone of you as we bring to a close of the year 1997. As the world becomes smaller, each of us should join the masters and make a commitment to clasp our hands and hearts in an act of unity so that we can continue to enjoy the fruits of nature and one another.
