Mecca's Message for November 1997

It's Only a Matter of Thought

November is the month of change and advancement. It is looking back and pursuing a dream. It is about honor and commitment. It's about keeping the dreams of others and carrying the torch with a burning desire. Above all, simply and truthfully, it's about being thankful for the actions of other forces besides ourselves who open the way and guide our path to a bright and successful tomorrow. It is also about birth and death.

America is "the land of the free and the home of the brave". It is in a song about the premise upon which our country was founded. The eleventh month of the year honors the men and women who served in sharing that belief with other countries of the globe, "from sea to shining sea". We can observe the sacrifice these brave men and women have made by visiting a national cemetery or visiting the statue of the Unknown Soldier. We pass them on the streets and see the scar of battle in wheelchairs and hear the click of their white canes. We hear about what the experience did to them as they tell of their plight with nightmares and beads of perspiration covering their bodies as they wake up startled and in a cold sweat.

Nature reminds us of change as the trees' leaves have received nourishment loose their natural greenery and become bare as they dance gracefully in their new dress of brown, yellow, and orange. The winds breathe heavily as they announce the rapid change in the weather.

America celebrates the feast of thankfulness of the first settlers who are given the notoriety of having the right to freedom of religion and thought. In an honest sense these people gave us the benefit of their dreams and aspirations. They also showed us the method of sharing their thankfulness in having a feast and inviting the group of Indians who taught them how to survive their first winter.

The two holidays which America celebrates by expressing honor and dignity to the brave inhabitants of a past time, looks forward to a bright and successful future with honoring the past lives of others. It is the desire of CAM Publishing and Planet MJAM that American families take the dream to its highest level by extending the essence of these two holidays to our universal family around the globe. We also would like to extend our very best to each and everyone as all of us share the warm feelings of love when we partake of the standard holiday dinner of turkey with our own families.

Being willing to reveal our thankfulness by telling others of the many aspects of our life and being and listening to the expressions of thanksgiving of others is one of the many ways of spreading love and giving throughout the planet. If each individual would call a friend or relative and express their thankfulness for friendship and the manifestations of those brave and willing persons who contributed in making our world what it is today, it would truly create a hum of peace in our contemporary world!

Have a joyous Thanksgiving wherever you are living on the glove as you extend your blessings with one another.
